We are deeply sorry for the loss you have just experienced and hope you will seek the support of The Compassionate Friends of Bay County, a self-help support organization for families that have experienced the death of a child, grandchild or sibling from any cause, at any age.
When your child, has died, it may feel like the whole world has crumbled around you. And, a lack of understanding or compassion from the people in our lives, be they family, friends, coworkers or strangers, can be frustrating and painful. Your entire world has changed and we understand, because we have been there ourselves.
Your decision to attend a meeting of The Compassionate Friends (TCF) may be a difficult one to make. Once you step through the door, however, you will find compassion, support and welcoming faces. You will feel safe among the TCF family, because you will be heard and you will not be judged. You will find the heart and friendship of others who truly understand much of what you are feeling, because they travel the same road of healing. We join together to remember our children, learn coping skills, and foster friendships that can help carry us through the most difficult time of our lives. There are no fees to attend.
There are over 600 chapters of TCF in the country as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada and the United Kingdom. Please let us know if you would like help locating a chapter for a family member which may live outside of this area.
The Bay County chapter was formed in 2014 and has continued to offer support to each person who has reached out to us. Our local chapter meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at Forest Park United Methodist Church (corner of 23rd and Lisenby), Panama City FL at 7:00 pm. We hold an annual Candle Light Ceremony on the second Sunday in December, have an annual Walk to Remember in April and are currently in the process of building a beautiful memorial garden at A.L. Kinsaul Park in Lynn Haven to honor the lives of our children, grandchildren and siblings.
Our Sincerest condolences,
Carol Ladouceur
Chapter Leader

I remember the sweet shy little girl coming to church one Easter standing by her momma looking pretty as a picture . I was picking at her asking her to give me her sucker. She smiled her beautiful smile and held that sucker out to share with me. She had the sweetest heart even then. My thoughts and prayers for peace and understanding are with you.
