John was one of my best friends in elementary school. He lived just down the street with his brother Rob, with uncle Dick and aunt June. We stayed friends through HS and his many moves throughout his youth. In and out of different schools and living in different places. John had a hard time as a child. Lost both his mom and dad at a very young age. Even through all that he always smiled. Made you know he was your friend. We lost touch after high school. I am uplifted by the wonderful notes posted by his friends he knew later in life. He was a kind and gentle soul.

John was one of the nicest boys I ever taught. He was a sweet, sensitive boy who always had a look of sadness under his smile. Go with God, John.

Just wanted to extend my sympathy to John's family. As others have said John was so kind and good-hearted. He was dedicated to his work, such a pleasure to be around. He will be missed by each one of us that worked with him. Jesus tells us in John 14:2,3 "I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." You are home my friend. God Bless

I had the pleasure of working with John at Shipwreck for the past 15 years. There was never a day that went by in which he wasn't smiling. He was by far, one of the kindest individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He will be greatly miss by all.
