Mrs. Viola Belle Mix, 98, of Tallahassee, FL formerly of Panama City went to her heavenly home on May 19, 2020 after a long life of kindness and generosity. Mrs. Mix was born January 10, 1922 in Friendship, NY. She met her husband of 67 years, Lowell Mix, in high school, married him in 1942, and moved to Florida while Lowell was a pilot stationed at Tyndall AFB. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of her life. She and Lowell were founding members of St. Andrew Baptist Church in Panama City, Florida. After Lowell was called to heaven in 2009, she decided to move to Tallahassee to live with her daughter and son-in-law, where she soon found another welcoming church family at East Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; her daughter, Mary Lynn; siblings Bertha, Lois and John; and grandson, SrA Russell Mountain.

She is survived by her three children: David Mix and wife Lana, Frank Mix and wife Stephanie, and Laura Mountain and husband Michael; two sisters: Ruth and Mary Ann; brother, Harry; six grandchildren: Joshua Mix, Matthew Mix and wife Tanisha, Kira Yeary and husband Wesley, Brian Shipe and wife Jessica, Christopher Shipe, and Chad Cortello; six great-grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Her family and friends will cherish her memory and her legacy of faith in God and service to others.

Aunt Viola was a very kind and special lady. Although I didn't get to spend a lot of time with her, as we lived so far away, I did enjoy our times together. She will be greatly missed, but she is together with Uncle Lowell.

There was never anyone that Viola would call her enemy as she made friends with and served everyone. She was so soft-spoken that you never heard complaints or arguments. If within her power she would always help! She loved her God, Church, husband and family. We will miss you Aunt Viola!

Mrs Viola was the sweetest lady. Her faith shined bright in all she did. Missed her when she moved to Tallahassee. Heaven's gain, our loss.
Prayers for the family.

I was very saddened to read the news of Mrs. Mixs passing . She would often come inside with her husband to conduct financial business . She was thoughtful , kind , generous and her faith stood out above many . A soft spoken and gentle lady who always made time to say hello and genuinely cared when she asked a person how they were . She truly was an angel that walked amongst us and I will be forever grateful for having the honor of meeting such a distinguished lady . My thoughts and prayers are with her family and her friends during such a difficult time . God Bless You Mrs. Mix . Thank you for making everyone feel so special .

The re has never been a kinder, more loving woman! She was a Proverbs 31 woman for sure! She became a second mother to us, and me in particular, accepting me with no reservations! We will miss you so much! But we know that you are much happier now in your heavenly home, reunited with Lowell!
