Eugene Lewis Swisher

Lexington - Eugene Lewis Swisher, 87 of Lexington died Friday, January 8, 2021 at Kendal. Born April 29, 1933 in Augusta County, a son of the late George Henry Swisher and Carrie Arehart Swisher.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Jane Swisher, six brothers; Huston, Curtis, Jacob, Greenlee, Calvin, Babe, one sister; Vottie.

He was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church and Sam Houston Ruritan Club. Eugene was in the automotive parts business for many years and was employed by Rockbridge Auto Parts and Midway Machine & Parts. After retiring he worked as a delivery person for Lexington Prescription Center.

Surviving are his son; Phillip E. Swisher and daughter; Vicki Shull and husband Michael, brother; Hugh Swisher and wife Nancy, sister; Phyllis Summers, two grandchildren; Ashley Shull and fiance' CJ Wilson, Aaron Shull, two special K9s; Kelli and Stormi, two grand K9's; Mocha and Jacee.

A graveside service will be 2 pm. Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Mt. Hermon Cemetery with Rev. William Beardon officiating. Masks and social distancing will be required. Friends may sign the register for Mr. Swisher on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 9 to 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 25 Bunkin Hill Lane, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473.

I remember Mr Swisher as a very kind and wonderful man from my childhood, teen and adult... The Lord gained another angel!! He will be missed by his family and lifelong friends. God bless you Mr Swisher! I know you are watching over your family now!
