May I offer sincere condolences to Don's family. I first met Don years ago when he worked in the engineering department at U.S. Surgical in North Haven. He was a genius at keeping the complex machinery and systems running at peak efficiency. Don had a quick wit and was always ready with a funny story whenever I would see him. As a supplier to U.S. Surgical I looked forward to our weekly meetings and occasional lunches. Don was a pleasure to be around, a good man, and I am certain he will be missed.

I would like to add that I will miss Don's fighting spirit and was amazed how he recently was riding his scooter to the store....Many of us would not dare to do that and we do not have his disease.. He lived as much as he was able to...which speaks volumes about the kind of man he was....

Dear Carol, Quinn and family,

So sorry about Don's passing, but it probably was best for him and he knew it and was ready.. so that is a positive..
He was very courageous and did the best anyone under the circumstances could have done to deal with such a cruel disease. He managed to do it with grace and humor and keep his wits . And you have been a wonderful supportive and loving family and did everything you could to demonstrate how much you loved and cared about him,

So, hopefully, in time, the sadness will be replaced by memories of positive family interactions and visions of Don fishing or building/repairing something around the house. Glad I had the chance to know him.
Love, Ruth
