Hall , John F Jr.
John F Hall Jr. 86 of Branford Ct., on January 1st, 2021 took the checkered flag as he crossed the finish line of life. He had celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage with his wife Claudette (Tibbetts) Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Etta Hall as well as his son James Hall. Surviving him are his daughters Laurie Lucibello (Andy), Judy Cook (Doug), Diane Funaro (Frank) and Rosi Waterhouse (Jon), his son Alan Hall (Maria), stepson Billy Pierson (Kathy) and daughter in law Liz Hall. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. John was cherished by so many who knew him throughout his life. He was a Motor Vehicle Inspector in Waterbury Ct. for 27 years. He also volunteered his time working for the New Haven Nighthawks Hockey Team for nearly 35 years. John will be remembered most for his friendship and leadership in the auto racing world. He spent 40+ years in the sport he loved not only as a racecar driver but as an official for the Waterford Speedbowl and Riverside Park Speedway. He was well known and loved as a racecar owner for his daughter and son in law. His most prized accomplishments were his race wins and his championship trophy as a racecar owner. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude in John's honor. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

John will be terribly missed. He was a wonderful friend and a gentle soul. Our hotdog and lobster roll runs as well as trips to John and maria's will not be the same. He had insight and perservance leaving us many times in awe of his ability to overcome his circumstances. He was an amazing man. His daily evening calls have now gone silent and we use that time for a quiet thankful prayer for the blessing of his life. Rest easy good friend, until we meet again. Love you

I enjoyed his no nonsense approach and true friendship. A very kind man, that, in the last year; I called nightly/he called me, to share our days activities. He loved the simplicity of going out with his honey, touring the shore, grabbing a DD coffee/and treat. I will miss him eternally.

I worked with John a number of years at the DMV. John always had a smile and something kind to say, even when he encountered a disgruntled customer. It didnt matter what the job was John would jump in and get it done. John was a gentleman always. Its a great loss to those that knew him. Dod speed my friend.

Dear Claudette, Laurie, Alan, Rosie, and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. John was a truly wonderful man! When there were questions in the used auto parts industry, DMV, racing, hockey, or life’s lessons he was our guy! As a great lover of the Ford Crown Victoria, we shared many conversations! John was always available to help and true friend! “Later bud”, I’m sure the angels in heaven awaited you with open arms! May you Rest In Peace!

John was our father figure at the DMV in Waterbury. He loved us all & made us feel special. His smile greeted us every morning as we entered the building. He had something nice to say to everyone. My greeting was “ good morning Irish “ He made our Saturday’s fun after a grueling work week by shouting out “ 5 and out” 8am -1pm.
He was a man of great stature who wasn’t afraid to shed tears on the spur of the moment and he had a heart of gold. We truly were an awesome DMV family & I’m blessed to have shared happy times and laughter with John. Rest In Peace my friend. IRISH

During my 9 years with the Nighthawks John was always a steady rock. His love of the team was his passion. He would always stop by my office before the game to say hello. I also remember that no matter the weather or how cold it was John would only have a sport coat on! A true classic. Best to his extended family at this time. Mike Gilbert

So sorry to hear of John's passing. Myself, my Brother and my Dad spent many Saturday nights racing at Waterford Speed Bowl. It was always good to see John there in both his DMV roll and as a trackside official. He was a good friend to many. God's speed on your journey home my friend.
