Oertel Family - There was no one that was more of a gentleman than John Oertel. It was a pleasure to sit with him at the Indian Neck Yacht Club and listen to his many stories! He will surely be missed.
Sincerely, Mike & Kathy Conner

He was always so kind and just great with us when we were boat neighbors for many years at INYC.

My deepest sympathy to the Oertel Family on your loss. I had the distinct privilege of saying I was one of Johns apprentices in the early 80's . Johns dedication and commitment to the Ironworkers over his 47 years of service is legendary. A great Ironworker and an overall real nice guy. Proud to have called him my friend and colleague.
To the Oertel Family, THANKS for sharing your Dad with us all.
