Mary Louise, Beth, and Martha,

Sadly, I just read on Legacy.com about your mom's passing last August.

I was lucky enough to have met your mother back in 2003 when your father's house in Westerly sold. We connected immediately, and it was a great pleasure to have corresponded with her at Christmas every year since.

Reading online about her life and her many accomplishments was fascinating. She was truly a remarkable woman who made such a positive difference in so many people's lives.

It must be great comfort to you to know that her legacy will live on through all the people whose lives she touched and enriched throughout her many years of activism.

My deepest sympathy to you all.

Sincerely,
Doug McCreadie

Mary, Beth, and Martha, so very sad to hear of your moms passing. I saw her name, her photo and many memories came flooding back. I remember your mom from when I was a child on E Ramsdell st. She was always so nice to me and that meant so much at that time of my life as my home life was not a happy one when I went to your house and it was often we played together for many years before I was torn from there and moved out to North Haven. I think I read more in your living room and sat at your kitchen table and the memories stayed with me to this day. Your mom talked to me even though I was a child and we car pooled. We played a lot with our paper dolls and we would sled down those hills in between the rows of apartments. I just wanted to say your mom left a lifelong impression and dried some tears of mine.My name is Angela Morgillo (Petrillo) I lived at 53 E Ramsdell St in Westville and went to St Aedans School with you for a while until we moved. I am MaryEllen Abts cousin. I haven't seen her since then but once at a family reunion many years ago. I am very sorry for your loss and I just found out from the article how great a woman your mom was. Just so many memories flooded back those 10 years were the best years I ever had as a child and I remember very clearly. Hope you are all well again so sorry about your mom.( I do remember your dad too. Sincerely Angela Morgillo
