Brooks, Jeffrey A.
Jeffery Andrews Brooks, 70 – lifelong resident of North Haven passed away peacefully on November 16, 2017 in the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Born on October 28, 1947 in New Haven, Son of Brian and Eunice Brooks. He leaves behind his loving wife, Margaret Kaszeta Brooks, married 46 years. Father of two sons Andrew Douglas Brooks, predeceased him this past September and Patrick Stearns Brooks of Berkeley, CA. Brother of Susan B. Weiner (Robert) of Park City, UT. Cousin of Randall York (Sharon) of Sag Harbor, NY, Sally Barron (Robert) of Enid, OK, Graham Andrews (Jean). Cousin and close friend of Curtis Andrews Sr., (Jane) of North Haven. Brother in law William Kaszeta (Sandra) of Mesa , AZ, Linda Kaszeta of VT, Francis Durand of NM. Also survived by many more nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeff graduated from Cheshire Academy and Graham College. He started his career in computers at New Haven Savings Bank, worked for the Town of North Haven, and after his marriage in 1971 he started work at Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a computer specialist in disaster recovery until his retirement in 2003. Jeff joined West Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Co. #3 at age 15 and retired after over 50 years of service. He served and was a member of the Fire Police, he was involved with parades, organized the 100th Anniversary of the North Haven Fire Department and State Parade. North Haven Fair-Announcer, CT Fireman's Convention Committee, Operation Santa and Antique Fire Trucks Club. He was a former member of the Aux. Coast Guard, Branford, High Lane Country Club-Bowling-Swim
Team Referee-and plays. He was a member of the 5th CT Regiment of the American Revolution, Richfield, living history re-enactments. Former member of the North Haven Congregational Church and Spring Glen Congregational Church. Jeff did a lot of volunteer work, Arrowdale Farm, Muzio Farm Market, Spring Glen Hardware and did reading for the blind. He loved long walks, J-Roos Karaoke, UCONN Women's basketball, the Boston Red Sox and his cats. Most of all he loved the Town of North Haven. He will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Tuesday morning at 11:00 with the Pastor James Detweiler officiating. Family and friends may call from 9:00 until time of service. Interment will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Ridge Volunteer Fire Dept. and or the CT Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.www.northhavenfuneral.com
