Gilbert Sr., Frank
Frank Robert Gilbert, Sr., age 89, of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 following declining health.
Mr. Gilbert was born December 30, 1927 to the late Charles Raymond and Bessie Applebee Gilbert in Old Saybrook, CT. He was Roman Catholic, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, and formerly a Marine Diesel Engine Mechanic at The Essex Boat Works and Chaplain of the American Legion Post 358, Fort Pierce, FL.
Mr. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife and "sweetheart", of more than 69 years, Zena S. Gilbert; daughters, Marie Wilson, of Elkton, MD, Bonnie Campbell, of Athens, ME, and Sharon Glenn, of Gainesville, GA; sons, Frank Gilbert, Jr. of Branford, CT and Charlie Gilbert, of Old Saybrook, CT; sister, Marguerite Gallager, of Old Saybrook, CT; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.
