I met Tom when I was 12 and had just moved to North Haven. We played Little League together. He was a Prince of a kid: modest, welcoming, perpetually smiling, a superb ball player and above all, he possessed the emotional intelligence, impeccable character and maturity of a grown man. I haven't seen him in 50 years. But I remember him and Sue with fondness and respect.

Sue, Matt, and Brian

Deepest sympathies to all of you and your other family members. Many of us are blessed in this life with a handful of extra special friends. Tommy was that and everything more. A true friend through thick and thin, straight shooter, great listener and communicator and had the heart of gold. His infamous smile matched his laugh and left a beautiful mark in all of our hearts. He cherished his family and friends and the memories he had gathered through the years. A First Ballot Hall of Famer . Unanimous !!

Very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Sending heartfelt sympathies to to Sue, Matt and Brian as well as the extended families. Tom and his family were our next door neighbors. He was always there to talk about school and sports and we all remember him fondly. He was a role model and friend to many North Haveners. Rest In Peace.

Tom was an amazing and highly skilled skater and hockey player.
As a high school student under his tutelege on the Miami Plumbing and Heating ice hockey team in the Southern Connecticut Amateur hockey League at Wesleyan University, I benefitted immensely from his coaching. In just three years, we went from inhabiting the basement in the standings to earning, and owning, first place as champions in 1973.
Thank you, Tom, for your patience with me - and all of the team - in those formative years, and for sharing your passion with us, for the sport we all love(ed).
God speed, Coach.
