Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family today. What wonderful memories we have of Clarence, as well as Rita! It would take a whole page to list all of the good times we shared together with the two of them. Dave, the visit you and Clarence made to Auburn was so vivid in our minds today as we passed the restored antebellum home where we had a pot luck dinner with some of our good friends. The music was great and so was the dance I had with Clarence. Ambers remarked today that during the war, Clarence never once pulled rank on them they were all just there to do their job. He was truly a remarkable man--a great soldier, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend!

Our most sincere condolences to our family in Ohio at this time of loss. My father John, told me about Clarence and the family we left in Ohio. I understand Clarence was a role model for my dad, and with that said, extends that Clarence Arand was in fact another living example of Psalm 15, just like my father was. His service records speaks to this also. He is in good company now among many friends who have gone before him. In our prayers, you all are. Sincerely, Tony.
