Just read of Dave's passing in The Leader and want his family to know I am sharing the sorrow. I was a classmate in first grade at St. Joseph and also through the four years at CLS. Will remember Dave as a man filled with peace and wonder.

Dear Joan, Beth, Annie, and Katie,
We are saddened by the passing of your dear husband Dave who was also a terrific Dad! I fondly remember how many talents your family shared with Mount Notre Dame. Be assured of lots of prayers for your family members who are left behind. Dave now rests pain-free in the loving embrace of the One who made him! We send you all our love and promise of prayers . . . John & Kathleen Hipskind Maier

Joan: I was sad to see the news about Dave's death. He was a good man in every sense of the word: kind and humble and gracious. He made Tender Mercies the program it was, as did you. Two people who are dedicated to helping others and asking for no recognition yourself. I'll have a glass of lemonade tonight after the visitation in his honor since he was our go-to man in making lemonade! Love, Nick Schrantz and the Notre Dame Club Tender Mercies volunteers.
