Dear Connie, I reach out to you with a warm hug and sincerest condolences. Firmin was an amazing person - always so distinguished, kind, and caring. I'll never forget our 10-days in Guatemala, where he navigated mountain trails and endless number of steps to be present with the children we serve - despite his difficulty in walking. He was not one to be stopped easily. I greatly appreciate his friendship and support (along with yours) over many, many years. You and Firm go back to the beginning - and we are where we are in part because of your support. Know that everyone here at CoEd is thinking of you and sending their support - along with my mom and dad. With warmest regards and deepest sympathy, Joe Berninger

Connie, Firm was such an extraordinary person! He was so talented that it was expected when I admired a piece of furniture etc. I was told Firm made it! But that was only one of his many talents. Most especially when I think of Firm I think of a quiet man, with a blazing intelligence, a kind heart and a great sense of humor. Such a gift to all of us whose lives he touched.
Love,
Carol

Dear Connie, Kathy and I were sorry to read the news about the passing of Firm. However, if Firm is not among the closest to God in heaven, then none of us have a chance. He was such a gentleman, who was always patient, supportive, caring, warm, compassionate, brilliant, and a model Christian. When we would visit you two, Kathy and I felt we were among some holy people we wanted to emulate. I'm sorry I cannot make the memorial service as I have an out of town conference with the archbishop and other archdiocesan employees. But we will hold you in prayer.
With much love and admiration, Kathy and Mike Gable

Connie, You have my love and admiration for your unfailing kindnesses and care of Firmin, meanwhile retaining your ability to be a great hostess to friends and, I'm sure, family. My memories of Firmin all are colored by his wry, sometimes sly, sense of humor. He will be missed...Ginny Zimmerman
