I still refer to hearing her teachings on the English language and on history. I worked on the Anderson HS "Chieftan" newspaper under her leadership. She was a true educator and mentor for so many of us. My condolences go out to her family and friends. She inspired us all.

8th grade, 10th grade, 12th grade, I couldn't get away from her! Best thing that ever happened to me, not being able avoid her as my-our-English teacher. Yes, she was tough and each and every one of us is the better for it! When I was a senior, Bob Sutter and I had to sit in the front row, right in front of her desk. I wonder why? We have lost a gem, may she rest in peace.

Jean Harris was both a mentor and a mother figure to me. Both personally and professionally, she looked after her English Department, fighting for us and standing up for us. She was so smart, with a wry sense of humor. I will miss her.

Jean Harris was a superb teacher. I first met her in 8th grade Honors English and then was in her class in high school. She was the best teacher I ever had. I was honored to see her often at the Cincinnati Pops while she was a volunteer there. She was truly an amazing woman.
My deepest sympathy to her family.
