Unfortunately, I have just known about Dr. Leonore Ganschow's passing. She was not only a helpful friend, though the distance in place and many other aspects, but also a supportive and encouraging mentor for me during my Ph.D. I started communicating with her since 2007 while I was working on my proposal and she kept helping me for years. I acknowledged her support in my dissertation in 2012 with these words "The completion of this dissertation rests on the support of some distant educators. I would like to express my deep appreciation to Dr. Leonore Ganschow, for being my distant mentor, and my voice of encouragement throughout my doctoral study. Her guidance, encouragement, and words of wisdom kept me going on this long and winding road. She was supporting me since the very beginning of the study when it was just ideas. Many thanks are offered to her for supporting me with resources, answering my questions, giving explanation, reviewing my scales, and never being late."
I posted this amazing picture in memoriam of dear Dr. Leonore with her lovely family. She sent it to me on Dec 18, 2013.
I will miss her adorable giving personality greatly.

I just learned of Dr. Ganschow's passing. I was a student at Miami University in the Educational Psychology Department from 1996-2000. I remember her excellent guidance and encouragement prior to her retirement. I am so sorry for your loss.

I just read about the passing of Leonore as I received my Miamian publication. I wanted her family to know that she was my favorite professor in graduate school at Miami. I took several of her classes and she served as my thesis advisor. Dr. Ganschow was kind, wise, humble and had a wonderful sense of humor. Always learning, she kept me challenged and thinking. She always threw in something more to wrestle with and to figure out.

The world is a better place because she lived in it and I am a better person for having known her.
