I got to know Lorraine later in life, what a fun lady indeed. Asides from the many jokes and fun moments I shared with Lorraine, her friendship with my mom was so appreciated by myself and our family. They were more like close sisters who shared so much in common, including their famed party barge trips with friends more than half her their age...countless stories those two share.

Sad to see her go, our condolences to the Newberry and extended family.

Lorraine came to my hair salon often saying she didn't want to look like an "old lady" . She maintained her youthfulness. I heard many stories of her children & grandchildren. It was hard to keep it all straight because she spoke of them equally. There was a time I was doing some remodeling and she gave me 2 framed pictures. She thought they would look nice in my bathroom. Kind of nastalgic looking. If I didn't want them to give them back because they were "special". I liked them. When I took them out if their frames I realized they were Hallmark cards put in frames! Ha ha! So now they hang in my bathroom and will always think of her because they really are "special". She would come in and give me a hug and say she loved me. She was a charm. RIP.
