BROOKLYN, MI - Billy E. Cates, age 54 of Morning View, Kentucky, formerly of Adrian, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born November 8, 1962, in Adrian, to James and Marie (Shepherd) Cates, and attended Adrian High School. On April 20, 2013, he married Deborah Vickers Nickell, and she survives. Billy loved his life on the road driving truck for 36 years. He enjoyed music, motorcycle riding, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, James and Marie of Adrian he is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughter, Crystal Bray of Traverse City, MI; step-children, Rachel (Terry) Eibeck, Missy (Shawn) Kirkwood, Penny Hornsby, Miles (Sherri) Nickell and Matthew (Summer) Nickell, all of Kentucky; siblings: Gary (Vicky) Cates of Adrian, Cathy (Terry) Swartz of Toledo, Jimmy (Kim) Cates of Adrian, Donna (Bob) Coleman of Sylvania, Lisa Cates of Hillsdale, and Bobbi Jo (Bruce) Cates of Deerfield; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2017, at Wagley Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Race officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until the service. Online condolences and memories may be shared at:
