I did not give a eulogy at my fathers funeral as time was limited but I wanted to share a few thoughts and thanks to this wonderful man. He was the kind of guy that took in a single mother and adopted her to young sons and made us a family. He taught me how to ride a bike, how to fish and how to be a man, he was most proud of my older brother and I for our military service and my career as an Airline Pilot. He loved to use his travel pass benefits and traveled often to the Philippines and to many gambling mecas, his favorite was Reno. Although we had our disagreements he was always there for me and stood by me. It became more evident to me his love and dedication when I became a stepfather myself. His love of music definitely influenced me and some of my fondest memories were going to see Little Richard and Jerry Lee when I was just 8 years old. You will be missed Ole Walt and will live in my heart forever. God bless you Dad.
