Caleb Christopher O'Neal Johnson was born on January 21, 2003 to Bokio Johnson and DeCarlas O'Neal-Johnson. On Palm Sunday, March 28, 2021, Caleb returned home to his Heavenly Father. After birth, Caleb resided in Uptown New Orleans. His family later moved to the Algiers area of New Orleans. Caleb attended primary and middle school at KIPP Central City and Wilson Middle School. At KIPP Middle School, he was a member of the marching band where he played the cymbals. At Wilson Middle School, Caleb played on the basketball team. He attended high school at Edna Karr for four years. While at Edna Karr, Caleb was a member of the Karr Football Team. Caleb was well loved and received by the Karr Family. He was voted Junior Duke for the 19-20 Homecoming Court. He will be acknowledged as part of the graduating class on May 5, 2021. To prepare for college success in high school, Caleb was a member of Dillard's Trio Program. Even though he was accepted into universities, Caleb's plans were to enlist in the United States Navy and later pursue his college education. He played park recreational sports at Norman Park and Bodenger Park. Caleb was a member of the City of Love Church. Caleb leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving parents Bokio Johnson and DeCarlas O'Neal-Johnson; two siblings Ya'el and Yosef Johnson, grandparent Beulah O'Neal, Godmothers Penny Hicks and Angela Montrel, four aunts Danette O'Neal, Yolonda O'Neal, Kiyana Johnson, and Chelsea Davis, two uncles Marlon O'Neal and Eddie Bo Johnson, and a host of God-siblings, cousins, relatives and friends. Caleb was preceded in death by step-sister Breyiana Brown, grandparents Silas O'Neal, Edward Johnson, and Crystal Johnson. The funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Edna Karr High School 4400 General Meyer Ave., New Orleans, LA. The viewing will began at 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. followed by the services. Pastor Lester Love officiating. Interment will be at Providence Memorial Park 8200 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA. Due to COVID guidelines, the funeral services will be limited to invited family and invited guests, with the viewing being open to the public. All attendees must wear a face mask.
