My father and "Mr. Dalton", as we called him, were good friends and fellow musicians, and I have fond memories of spending many days at their home. My condolences and prayers go out to Deanna and the rest of the family.

To Deanna and your family, I will never forget your dad, your mom, or you. Not to mention the pool in the yard my good friend from years ago. I'm very sorry for your loss. One day I was in the French quarter and I noticed a cat who resembled your dad gigging at a outdoor cafe called the Meditaranian on Decatur St and I just walked up and asked him his name. It was Your dad. He looked me in the eyes and said my name. I couldn't believe after all those years he remembered me from Treasure St. It was so great to see him after 40 plus years. He and I just shared a little time talking before his set and when I told him that I play piano and I needed a fake book, he reached in his gig bag and said "here, use this-it's in the key of C". I was over excited because it had all the tunes I needed and it was in my key- piano. Only in New Orleans! Your dad Dalton was a great trumpet player. God Bless You and the family.
