Betsy and Family, I am so saddened to hear about Dave. The epitome of a gentleman, Dave was a rare breed, truly best of the best. Dave was one of the absolute finest ballplayers I have ever met- he was that good. Always there to give a warming smile, never to say an unkind word to anyone or about anyone. Having been with him only 5 years at Chevron, I saw professional skills that were clearly top shelf, and leadership qualities that would take him far. It's fair to say that everybody loved Dave. I will never forget such a treasure.

Betsy, I just found out about Daves passing. I knew you both when I was attending UW-Eau Claire.
You were a perfect match. My deepest condolences to you and your family. He was one of a kind. Keep up that beautiful and brave smile I remember Sincerely, Julie

Betsy and Family: I'm so sorry for your loss. Dave was always a class-act. I have many fond memories of early days with "Mother Chev" and Slidell. Company softball team - As a college athlete, Dave was 2, 3, ah heck ... 11 levels above the rest of us. He usually played left field. As an infielder, I absolutely hated fielding his throw after an opponent's hit. He threw a "frozen rope" with such velocity, I could literally hear the air crackle and hiss before it came into my glove. Holy crap ... it stung!!
As in athletics, Dave was at the top of his game as a geologist. Most importantly, his pride and love of family was always apparent.
