So sorry to hear about Col Schmidt. I just found out, but wish I could have made his services. You and your family will forever be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for the loss of this magnificent man. You both were such a big part of our lives while living at the Barracks. I will always treasure our time together, just hanging out at you alls house. He was a no nonsense guy with a huge heart. Continued prayers for you all.Love, Elizabeth Forjet

We have countless wonderful memories of Lester, many of them hilarious! Both Cliff and I both had the privilege of working with him. His love of the Jackson Barracks Military Museum was boundless and he is responsible for any measure of success I had there. For Cliff, he was that one person you could talk to about anything and know that you would get an unvarnished, honest opinion grounded in common sense and given in that gruff and loud - very loud - voice! We respected him and we loved him! Our sincere condolences to Deanna and all of Lester's family. May he rest In peace.

Our sincere condolences to your family. Lester was one of a kind, loyal and dedicated to his family and to the Louisiana National Guard. We have very fond memories of Lester from our years at Jackson Barracks. Rest in peace Lester.
