there is a lot that I will miss about rick, but the thing that hurts the most is that he never knew what a cool guy I thought he was. he was at the top of my “favorite people at peter mayer” list and I never even told him! stories were just funnier when they were told by rick. he knew how to work. he took projects seriously but at the same time kept them fun and exciting. I respected him as a designer, co-worker, and fashion critic. he was always happy. he was so so caring. he was warm and inviting. he was down to earth and so interesting. he could talk to anyone about anything and he was compassionate, but most of all, he was a really good person - simple and loving. I pray that I live my life that way. I will miss his face, his walk, his cool voice, his creativity and his charisma.

What a great loss to the New Orleans community. I worked with Rick at Peter Mayer Advertising. He was always quick to a smile and very supportive to all his co-workers. I will miss his friendship and am saddened at the loss of his creative spirit.

While I did not know him outside of Peter Mayer's walls, I will miss Rick's commentary on life, on work, on social issues and popular culture. I will miss his booming voice down the hall, and the door slam when the music or chatter got too loud. I feel like I can still hear him here, and he will be missed. Rick was a larger than life presence at Peter Mayer. He was a truly committed creative, and a passionate person. We have a lot to live up to.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Rick. He was a dynamic person who cared deeply about his friends, his coworkers and his job. He was funny and caring and thoughtful. And from the first conversation I had with him I knew he was a kindred spirit and someone that I could learn a great deal from. I only worked with him for a short time, but in that brief time I felt like he was not only a great mentor, but a friend as well. I will miss him more than I can say. And it feels empty without him.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this impossibly difficult time.

A tragic loss to all who knew him, he will surely be missed. My sincere condolences goes out to his family and friends. To quote a line from Keats:
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever: Its loveliness increases; it will never Pass into nothingness; but still will keep A bower quiet for us, and a sleep Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.

Rick was one of my first friends at Peter Mayer Advertising. Rick was a remarkably talented man, whom I had the privilege of knowing and sharing many warm witty moments. I will never forget you or your smile. JD Roscoe

Rick, I will honor you by contemplating "what would Rick do"? You were my rock on many occasions and you will be missed terribly. Thanks for your patience and teachings; we'll talk about it one day.
To the Baxter family:
I'm just another who thought so fondly of your son and brother. My heart and prayers go out to you.

Rick had a great old soul and will be missed at Peter Mayer. His voice and smile will always linger here in the halls. God bless Rick and the entire Baxter family.

Rick Baxter. Passionate about life, New Orleans and work. Yes, work. That's exactly what Rick Baxter loved most: coming to work, leading his team and making an impact with his creative ingenuity. He loved his work, and I, his writer partner for the last 4 years, will miss his unwavering passion to everything he touched. There are no certainties in life, but you're no longer lingering in the cone of uncertainty my friend.

So long for now. You'll be deeply missed.
