Noreen lived a long and fulfilling 91 years.
Born in Regina, SK, and raised in Nanaimo, she attended St. Margaret's Boarding School. She had a lifelong passion for music and focused on piano, completing the 12-year Royal Conservatory in five years. Graduating from Normal School, she taught in Nanaimo and Victoria.
She was married for 50 yrs to Arthur, who predeceased her in 2000. Together they raised five fabulous kids: Peter (Jane), Robin, Jonathan (deceased 1976), Peggy, and Kerry (William; deceased 2021).
Moving to Vancouver she used her talents to teach piano to 25-30 students annually for 50 years (you do the math!). Noreen was a very active member of St. Christopher's Anglican Church for over 58 years. She spent many years passionately involved with Camp Artaban as a camper, counsellor, board member, and on-site administrator, as well as countless work parties. Later in life, after a year on the North Shore Disabilities Counsel, she founded the "Eye-Deal" group at West Van Seniors Center, helping those with visual difficulties. She herself had macular degeneration.
Mom/Granny, you had a long and full life. You weathered many life challenges with grace and determination (aka stubbornness, LOL). Your strong faith has been your anchor. You have been well-loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed. Be at peace; Dad/Grandpa and Jonathan are waiting.
Noreen also leaves behind six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Thank you to KORO Cremation for your care and professionalism; again, you have been brilliant!
