Suzanne Dunn Cadenhead age 65 of Crestview passed away January 6, 2020. She was born February 25, 1954 in Crestview and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Crestview High School in 1972 and went on to earn her master's degree in psychology from Florida State University. After teaching at several schools in Okaloosa County, Suzanne retired as the Guidance Counselor at Northwood Elementary School after more than 30 years with the Okaloosa County School District. Suzanne had the privilege of touching the lives of many students and employees during her 30 plus years as an educator and was honored as Okaloosa County Teacher of the Year twice during her career.
Suzanne was an avid reader; she loved books of many kinds but most of all loved her Bible, which she wore out from daily reading. She loved being well-dressed and was always well-covered in her favorite perfume. Suzanne loved the Seminoles, the beach, sand and saltwater, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and told everyone about them at every opportunity.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, N.W. "Red" and Jewel Hutto Dunn. Suzanne is survived by her partner of more than 18 years, James Riley; her children Skyler Cadenhead (Carolyn) and Cissy Holloway (Jon); brothers Joe Dunn, David Dunn (Pam), Bill Dunn (Lissa); grandchildren, Taylor, Ayden, Finn, Ellie and Houston; and her best friend since 6th grade, Martha Barton.
A celebration of Suzanne's life will be held on Sunday January 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Crestview, with burial to follow at Live Oak Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
