Thomas "Randy" Davis an ancestor of the Founders of Destin passed peacefully at home on Monday, August 27,2018 amongst his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Susan Davis and son Kyle (Heather) Davis , Tommy Davis, Tammy (Chad) Greenwood of Vermont. He is survived by his sister Kelly Morgan, his Aunt Muriel Destin and many cousins and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas B Davis and Delores Destin, brother Kenny Davis. Randy started fishing at a young age with his Uncle "Buck" Destin on the net boats . He spent 50 years yachting, tournament fishing and Commercial Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, The North Atlantic, Pacific, Caribbean, Bahamas and West Indies Island.
He owned numerous commercial fishing vessels and ran many more. He was grateful for friends and family and an inspiration to many younger and older peers. Randy received a photo album recently with this message "I feel so blessed God let me have time with you. They were some of the best times of my life. Thank you for always being there for me and being such an important part of my life and many others. You will always be my Hero, " Captain Clippie." Upon his passing his nephew Justin Destin wrote "The sea is calm, the Tuna are chewing and the lines are straight." Arrangements are entrusted to Davis Watkins funeral home. It was requested by Randy that a private service take place at another time to spread his ashes in the Gulf. Memorials may be made to The Destin Fishing Museum or Emerald Coast Hospice.
