I have only the most beautiful memories of Mrs Johnson. She maintained control of her classroom, and we took turns reading aloud from great works of literature. It helped us escape the world a little bit during the teenage years even though we resisted. I can still see her standing in front of the class as we read, an indelible memory 41 years later. Thank you Mrs Johnson for your kindness and patience. I am glad you graced our lives during high school. And thank you for Romeo and Juliet. ❤ May your memory be eternal.

Doris was a wonderful English teacher who worked hard with her students to hone their reading and writing skills. Students loved her. The faculty at Munster High School loved her, too. She was
a super-kind person who was always positive. I enjoyed being around her, She is the only teacher I knew who had set up a light from her glove box in her car so she could grade papers while Charles drove them to visit their son. I really enjoyed that she and Charles were square dancers because her face lit up when I asked her about it. I've missed her because I haven't seen her as much as I had when she was able to come to retired teacher events.

Keith and Larry, your mom was one of the nicest members of the Munster High faculty. She was well liked by all the students. Doris was a big supporter of the kids, and had a profound impact on her fellow teachers. She was truly a wonderful human being.
