Joe,

You were truly one-of-a-kind. It seems as if you knew who everyone was and everyone knew you as well. Someone from our family described you as being the "Mayor of the East Side". That's not far from the truth! Years ago, I remember being at a White Sox game with you and while we were there you said to me, "Hey John, see that man right over there, that's Reggie Fleming" and I thought to myself, who's Reggie Fleming? Turned out he was a hockey player. Can you imagine that? Joe Schuetter recognizes a hockey player at a baseball game! Anyway, thank you for being a wonderful next door neighbor for all those years, along with cousin Pat and "Grandma" Schuetter. God Bless.

Love,

John & Barbara Truby

Searching the house like crazy for a picture you gave me a few years ago with you and Uncle Lee. The envelope stating "Just remember who your favorite Uncle is! Love, Joe" That is such a YOU thing to do! Funny, loving, happy, caring, shining! What a wonderful life you shared with us all! Too many wonderful memories to mention! Only,Thank You,Uncle Joe for each and every one of them! I will adore and miss you forever! Love, your 'little lynnie' Rest well!

Uncle Joe,
You and Aunt Pat gave Ted and I so many wonderful memories that we'll hold dear forever. Whether it was teaching Ted how to drive your Oldsmobile at the cottage and all the fun times we spent up there, breakfast with Santa on the train, the family Christmas parties, you, Aunt Pat, our other Aunts and Uncles, and our parents going to dinner dances on New Years Eve, dinners at your house, going upstairs to visit and learn how to speak German from Mrs. Schuetter, or simply spending the night and playing with Midnight at your house... we always had a good time and knew you loved us. I'm sure you and Aunt Pat are up there dancing to Chattanooga Choo Choo just like you did during our talent show that one Thanksgiving we spent at the cottage and carrying on with all our other beloved Aunts/Uncles. What a reunion you all are having! You've had quite a long, busy, and wonderful life. Now it's time for you to rest with Aunt Pat, baby Richard, and the many others who have left us. We'll love, miss, and think of you often.

So many fond memories. Vacation to Disney in the bus. Tons of weekends at the cottage playing cards all night. Dinner dances, spending New Years Eves and the best Thanksgivings ever! Our kids, nieces and nephews still talk about the fun at the cottage. You were loved and will be truly missed.

Joe,
You are definitely now dancing to Fly me to the Moon with your beloved wife Pat. You were not only one of the nicest and most generous persons I have had the pleasure of knowing, but you were the best surrogate grandpa to my two daughters and they loved you for it. I will miss your smile and your friendship. You definitely have left a beautiful legacy. May you rest in peace.
