Margaret E. Malloy CROWN POINT, IN - Margaret E. Malloy, age 97 of Crown Point, Indiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Margaret was born March 28, 1923 in Gorseinon, Wales, UK to William J. and Edith P. (Miles) Evans. The seventh of eleven children, Margaret emigrated to Gary, Indiana at age eight and found her new country the perfect place to finish her education, grow up in a huge happy family, and marry the boy next door, Air Force Lieutenant James D. Malloy, who had just returned from Margaret's old stomping grounds in the UK. As WWII ended, the two married in Boise, Idaho and moved to Crown Point to begin a marriage of 50 years. Left with the happiest memories of a devoted sister and mother, are Margaret's three surviving siblings: Mrs. Hannah Corbin (Wausau, WI), Ms. Benice Evans (Laguna Woods, CA), and Mrs. Phillippa Springer (Plainfield, IL); and her seven children Sheila R. Malloy (Crown Point, IN), James D. (Mona) Malloy Jr. (Dallas, TX), Thomas J. Malloy (Lowell, IN), Patrick D. Malloy (Boise, ID), Jane E. Malloy (Fort Wayne, IN), John B. (Tammy) Malloy (Lake Village, IN), and Mary E. (Sam) Rhee (Crown Point, IN) and numerous grandchildren, great-grands, and many, many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Crown Point Community Library Children's Department would be most appreciated. A private funeral service for her family will be held at PRUZIN & LITTLE FUNERAL SERVICE (811 E. Franciscan Dr., Crown Point) on Friday, May 22, 2020 with Rev. Jim Wozniak officiating. She will be laid to rest at Maplewood Memorial Cemetery. Please visit www.pruzinfuneralservice.com to express online condolences and view online obituary.

To Margaret's children, several of whom I knew personally, my sincere condolences. I was a very close friend of your Dad, Jim, at USS Gary Sheet & Tin, a prince of a man. I did have the privilege of meeting your mother on several occasions, many years ago. Two very fine people I've had the privilege of knowing.

I have such fond childhood memories of sitting at the table in the middle of the cottage playing Spoons and Uno. I can hear Margrets laughter. Growing into our preteen and early teen years, she always kept a watchful eye on our shenanigans. She was an icon on Birchwood Beach and I am so thankful for the years of memories our families share. Sending deepest condolences. Much love to the Malloy family.

What a wonderful person who was and is a big part of Birchwood.. My fond memories of her go far beyond the early morning beach cleaning.I suspect she may organize a Birchwood alumni group in Heaven.

I will miss Margaret with all my heart, with what started as just another cleaning job turned into an addition to my family. Although I was hired to clean and shop for her, Id have to say numerous hours were spent sitting and talking. I felt I learned more about her and her family then my own. Margaret you were one of the kindest persons Ive known. You really meant the world to me.❤ Kellie
