ROBINSON--Richard. The Board and staff of the Children's Museum of Manhattan mourn the passing of Richard Robinson. Dick was a dedicated advocate for chil-dren, childhood literacy, and education. He brought joy and opportunity to millions, and as a CMOM Board member, his vision and leadership created our current home. We are grateful for his friendship and will proudly champion his inestimable legacy through our ongoing work with children and families. Laurie M. Tisch, Chair Emerita; Shannon Bauer Aronson and Matthew Messinger, Co-Chairs; Aileen C. Hefferren, Chief Executive Officer

Dick Robinson was one of a kind. He was one of the best leaders I’ve ever worked for. It’s not everyday that you find a person who can change the trajectory of your life with just simple words! Dick you will truly be missed.

The legacy Mr. Robinson has left on the publishing world is unmatched by any words that can be written. He made a difference in so many lives. I am thankful to have been an employee of Scholastic for over 8 years. I fondly recall working in the language arts division and being photographed for a cover of Scope Magazine in 1974. I still have the cover and will cherish the fun memories it brings. Wishing the family peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Dick was one of the most amazing people I have worked for. I was blessed to be able to manage his Father, Maurice "Robbie" Robinson's Annual Dinner for educators. His presence will be missed globally. Gone to soon.

As an affiliate director of the Scholastic Art and Writing for 20 years, I will miss Dick's describing how his mother was a scholastic award winner. She was hired by Scholastic Publishing and eventually marring his father, Robbie, owing there creation to the Scholastic Awards. I could always see the joy he had in telling the tail at the annual National Awards Ceremony. We had met a few times and shared our admiration of the student awards. He was all about kids. I am saddened by his passing. My condolences to his family.

As an avid bookworm from 7 years of age, the Scholastic Book Fairs at school were the things this former child looked forward to, the most. What a treasure, to be able to easily afford a book of your own in those days. My thanks to the Robinsons for beginning their publishing company which made so many children happy and set us on the road to lifelong learning. To Mr. Robinson's family, please accept my condolences on your loss. We hope you will continue your family legacy and keep encouraging children to learn to enjoy reading. Thank you for being there for me.
