Found memories of the Dyer Clan visiting with the Butler clan at your property cnr Pupuke Road and Bank Street many, many years ago. Never drive by there without thinking of you all. Jenny Davis (Dyer), Te Aroha

I met Dorothy Butler through her shop in the eighties. I had an interest and love of children's literature and she fuelled that passion. I read her book about what books to read and enjoy for which age groups. I loved going to her shop and could hang out there for hours. Even my children when they were younger would hang out reading, buying books and taking in her suggestions. Doroththy Butler has inspired reading in a huge number of young people and old. Myself I was a student at university studying children's literature. I have found memories of her in her Ponsonby shop. My sympathy goes to the family. She has served you and the people of Aotearoa well. May God Bless you at this time.

I loved Dorothy Butler as a child when I met her in Glenfield, she was so kind to me and I love books because of her. I will always remember her with great fondness and gratitude. Rest easy dear lady.

I am so sorry I could not make the funeral due to sickness of my grandson. My thoughts are with you all and I have been with you in my heart from Waiatarua at this time.
My family and I have VERY fond memories of Dorothy. She was part of our life at Kare Kare, and I had the priviledge of teaching music to lots of her grandchildren. Celia and her sons Rohan and Joel
