Graeme is my first cousin and I would say he was my first first cousin (along with Rex) because our mothers were twins. I am sad to hear of his death and as a result of course I have been thinking about him. I did not really see much of Graeme in his adult years and my memories go back to our childhood when I spent many school holidays on the farm. One memory came to me a few days ago when I was out checking a possum trap line. I remembered the freezing August mornings heading off with Graeme on the most basic bicycle to check his possum traps. In those days it was gin traps and a trusty golf iron to dispatch the possum. Later on in his teens I remember his mini car that he lavished hours of attention on. He pushed the boundaries of the law with his stick on number plates. I remember his great smile and laughing eyes. I know he will now have his hand up to ride the fastest star in the universe.

Very saddened to hear of Graeme's passing. Have many great memories from his time in the Karapiro Ski Club and the early days of Ski Racing in Eliminator. He was an extremely funny and generous man and i consider myself very fortunate to have been his friend.

What a shock to hear of Grae's passing. We had some great times together at Gestro Horne over many years and I always admired his drive and energy and desire to succeed at everything he undertook. What a sad day it was when I rushed to the hospital the day of the accident and saw the mess you were in. It was sheer willpower that enabled you to survive til now.
My deepest condolences to Angie and her family and I regret that I will be unable to be with you on the 27th

Graeme John Horne . what a guy . what a competitor I was one of the privileged who knew Graeme before he started racing.; 17yo we were when we meet. In Wanganui, Graeme was salesman for an advertising company Wood&Mitchell in Palmerston North. we went on to racing cars . and then I went away from cars into offshore boats, and Graeme went into ski racing, then came over to offshore ./ too many GREAT times to single out one in particular.I have raced over 100 races against Graeme, he was a fierce competitor.and a great sportsman ON and OFF the water . R I P Graeme.
