I believe John may have spent time in Victoria Australia during the early to mid 1960s and was an acquaintance of my mother's family. Sincerely sorry for your loss.

My mother, Gladys Watt (née Ramsey) was the youngest of the ten Ramsey children; John's mother, Mavis (who died when John was only 14months) being an older sister.
I recall John sharing a memory at a family reunion from his time as a youngster in the Dingwall Orphanage. My mother and her eldest sister, Ivy, would bike across Auckland to visit the orphanage each weekend. They would often bring fruit to John. Such was the preciousness of these visits John would keep under his pillow, a banana skin as a reminder of love.
Along with my four younger brothers I remember John visiting our North Shore, Nile Road home and witnessing his magic penny-on-the-wall' trick: we were fascinated.
When visiting with John last year (2018) in March and learning that he had no memory of his mother, I decided to send on to him my heirloom coat-hanger, that my mother had given me beautifully and delicately painted that his mother had created many of for sale through Smith & Caughey's store in Auckland; John was so grateful.
