Dunnellon - Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Mooney, 79, of Pittsburg, PA, passed away on January 6, 2018 in Dunnellon, FL. Elizabeth Mooney was born in Pittsburg, PA to the late Richard and Anne Cahill on September 9, 1938. She married her husband Thomas Anthony Rotthoff on October 25, 1958 until his passing, and later went on to marry William Francis Mooney July 18, 2003.
She worked as a secretary for US Steel for many years and was Account Manager for National Car Rental in Bloomington, MN for 15 years. She created the charity Suicide Awareness Council in Minneapolis, MN and was a member of Red Hat Society of Dunnellon, FL. She volunteered as a kindergarten teacher's aide at Dunellon elementary. She also volunteered her time as a bingo caller at Quiet Oaks Nursing Home.
Elizabeth Mooney is preceded in death by Thomas Rotthoff.
Elizabeth Mooney is survived by husband, William Mooney; sons, Michael Rotthoff, Stephen (Patti) Rotthoff, James (Christine) Rotthoff; and daughter, Susan (Scott) Thompson. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Cahill; and sisters, Joan Wandrisco, and Judy Wohlfarth; as well as grandchildren, Katie Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Joshua Rotthoff, Cozette Drotning, Cassady Rotthoff, Lynne Freese, Michael Freese; and great-grandchild, Jameson Rotthoff
Services will be held at Joy Lutheran Church, 7045 SW 83rd place, Ocala Florida, Friday, January 12, 2018, visitation from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, with a Funeral Service at 12:00 pm. Inurnment will be at Pleasant View cemetery in Burnsville Minnesota. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/give/memorials-and-dedications.html

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

She was a great Aunt to us all. She will forever be in our hearts and prays. She was an angels here on earth now she flies with the angels in the heavens above
