Gloria M. (Graff) Scanlan
BRADENTON, FLA. / WADSWORTH, OHIO --Gloria M. (Graff) Scanlan, 90, formerly of Wadsworth, more recently of Bradenton, Florida passed away Monday, September 3, 2018.
She was born June 4, 1928 in Barberton, Ohio to the late William and Gladys Thompson. Gloria was a graduate of Akron City Hospital School of Nursing and was a nurse for many years. In addition, she was the owner and operator of Gloria's Women's Apparel in Wadsworth and Rittman. Mrs. Scanlan was a member of First Christian Church in Wadsworth where she enjoyed singing in the chancel choir. She also was a member of the Yusef Khan Caldron and enjoyed dancing and playing Bridge.
Gloria was preceded in death by her son, William Graff; brother, Billy Thompson; and a great-grandson.
Gloria is survived by her sons: Richard "Dick" (Patty) Graff of Florida, Tom Graff of Wadsworth, and daughter-in-law, Cathy Graff of Wooster. Survivors also include grandchildren: Lisa McLuckie, Tim Graff, and Thomas Graff; four great grandchildren; and brother, Jim Thompson of Howard.
The family will receive friends Friday 5 - 8 p.m. at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, 116 E. Boyer St., Wadsworth, with Pastor Sarah West officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
