Donald Clyde Newman
Oklahoma City - Longtime Southwestern Bell Telephone Company employee and retiree, Donald Newman, passed away in the early morning of February 15, 2021. Donald was born June 24, 1924 to Floyd C. Newman and Annie I. (Davis) Newman in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Donald married Verda Mae Smith on September 7, 1946. They welcomed their daughter Debera Newman in 1948. Donald enjoyed traveling Verda Mae and the grandkids, as well as to the First Special Forces Group reunions in honor of his late brother. He was also an outdoorsman who truly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife Verda Mae. Donald is survived by daughter, Debera Newman of the home; sister, Mary Anne Agan of Plano, Texas; grandchildren Cindy Crowl of Oklahoma City, and Chad Crowl of Enid; great-grandchildren Bryce and Chloe Crowl; as well as extended family Kenneth Crowl and Amy Kelley. The family would like to thank Josie Cruz and the wonderful staff at Integris Baptist Hospital for all their care and kindness. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM on Tuesday, February 23rd, at Buchanan Funeral Service. The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 24th, at Highland Hills Baptist Church. The graveside service will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 24th at the Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, OK.
