My Granma was an amazing woman. I have so many memories of her from when I was a kid and I love every one of them. But, my greatest memories of her will always be the last 20 years or so.

She was a proud, strong willed, opinionated woman but at the same time the sweetest, most caring lady you could ever meet. I look back and see that she was so much more than just my Granma. She was my friend. Probably my best friend. We could talk for hours about everything and nothing. I could visit her for several hours one day and call her the next day to tell her something and we would end up talking so long that my ear hurt from holding the phone to it. Every time I told her I needed to head home from our visits, whether I had been at her place for an hour or 12, she always asked, "Why?". Having a family to take care of wasn't a good enough excuse to end our visits because she knew Joe could handle things while I was gone.

She took me to buy my first car. She let me live with her when I felt I had no one. She encouraged me and always told me the truth- whether I wanted to hear it or not. She criticized me. But... she never stopped loving me and supporting me. She loved Ruby from the minute she was born and accepted Joe with just a little hesitation. She cheered for the Thunder with me and we both professed our love for Steven Adams.

There are so many great things that can be said about her and not nearly enough days, weeks or years to say them all. Her strength, her perseverance, her unwavering love for her family. She always wanted to know what everyone was doing and where they were going and why they did what they did.

She has made a lasting impact in my life and in this world. She has always been and always will be a great influence in my life. Her strength and love will be carried on by the 4 generations she leaves behind and I will never stop trying to make her proud.
