MARY BOAZ Obituary

Aug. 12, 1939 - Jan. 9, 2019 MIDWEST CITY Mary Dorothy (Raines-Dartez) Boaz was born August 12, 1939 in Luke, Maryland to Woodrow Wilson and Edith (Walker) Raines. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, niece and friend. She took great pride in her family and the close family relationship she had with each of them. She had a Master's Degree from Utica School of Business but was most proud to be a Registered Nurse and worked OB/GYN Nursing 26 years at Integris Southwest Medical Center. SHE LOVED BABIES, mother care and the close working family she had there. Mary was a phoenix. She loved the sun, pool parties, any party and had a gift for making everyone feel special. She enjoyed traveling, volunteering but mostly being surrounded by her kids, grandkids and great grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, baker and seamstress. She would make dresses for her kids and make a matching outfits for their Barbies. Mary was a long-time member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 170 Midwest City as well as the 40 & 8. She loved a man in uniform and worked to support our Veterans. She served in various offices but loved serving as Chaplain. She was a card shark and was ready to play at the drop of a hat. Late night poker games with dad, brothers and sister were some of her favorite pastimes. Cut throat rummy with her friend Judy or anyone willing to play. She loved fast black cars, Elvis, Neil Diamond, butterflies, carousels, season tickets at the Civic Center with her daughters but most of all being surrounded by loving, happy people because that's how she made us all feel. She had God given gifts of passion, love, forgiveness and acceptance. She was a bright light in this sometimes-dark world. She is survived by her husband of 30 years William Boaz, children and spouses, Rudy A. Dartez (Chris), Parfait Dartez, Jr., Gina Wekke (Robert), Julie White (Terry) and Kathleen Dartez; grandchildren and their families, Stephanie and daughter Azaleena Dartez, Daniel Dartez, Kenny Dartez, Angela Dartez, Tiffany Reynolds, Parfait Dartez III, Jordan Dartez, Emily Dartez, Cory Wekke, Krista Wekke, Mary Anne Crues and Matthew White; brothers & sis, Woodrow Raines (Becky), Richard Raines (Debbie), Gloria Brockman (Patric), Ron Raines (Sandra); best friend, Judy Peltzer; as well as many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends who will miss her dearly. Mary was preceded in death by her loving parents and a host of loving uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Words cannot express how heartbroken we are but are so much more blessed because we had her in our lives. A funeral for Mary will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK 73141 with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
