July 6, 1929 - November 27, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY Harold R. Haynes, 88, of OKC, OK, went to be with his heavenly Father on November 27, 2017. He was born July 6, 1929, in Tulsa, OK, to Ira & Dorothy Haynes. Harold attended Daniel Webster HS in Tulsa, OK and graduated in 1947. He also attended OK A&M (OSU) majoring in Business Administration and graduated in 1951. Harold proudly served his country in Korea as a US Army Technical Sgt. He joined the 5th Regimental Combat Team (RCT) and served in the trenches located on the northern rim of the infamous Punch Bowl, Korea. He fought on the front line receiving numerous citations and medals including 3 Bronze Stars before being honorably discharged in 1953. Until 2016, Harold continued to reunite annually with members of the 5th RCT. Harold enjoyed a 31 year distinguished career with Dowell. He served in various management roles traveling to offices & oil field operations in 35 states before retiring as Sr. General Internal Auditor. Harold met the love of his life, Dorothea Jean Jenkins (Jeanne), while working together at Dowell in 1955. They were married at Zion Lutheran Church, OKC, on March 17, 1957. Together they enjoyed spending time with family & friends, traveling, and fishing. They enjoyed a home together on Eufaula Lake for many years. Harold served as a member of AMBUCS and was a volunteer patient driver for the American Cancer Society and Mobile Meals. Harold is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanne of OKC; daughter, Glenda Crouch, son-in-law Steve Crouch and their children Kelsey and Connor; son, Jerry Haynes, daughter-in-law Kayla, and their children Kyle, Justin and wife Ali, and Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Orval and Glenn Haynes. Throughout his life, his family was blessed by his modeling of God's living lessons and his legacy of love. Funeral services will be at Messiah Lutheran Church Wednesday, November 29, 2017, 1:00 PM. Internment: Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, OKC, OK.
