Nov. 24, 1925 - Jan. 16, 2013 TULSA Jeanne Darcey Osgood may have been known to regularly request "just a sliver" of cake at family functions, but was always had a heaping serving of warmth, love, laughter and zest for life to share with all -- friends and family alike. She was born November 24, 1925 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City to Henry and Libby Darcey and left this earth on January 16, 2013 with her guardian angel to join her husband of 50 years, Jim Osgood. After graduating from Classen High School in 1945, where she was a member of the BVG Sorority, Jeanne went on to attend St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, KS. While still in school, she struck up a friendly pen pal relationship with Jim while he was stationed in Europe during World War II. Their relationship quickly blossomed and they were married on July 14, 1948. In 1966, Jeanne moved to Tulsa with her family and made her mark working as a volunteer with a number of organizations including, Christ the King Women's Club, St. Charles Guild, Order of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Bishop Kelley High School Parents Organization. However, she was probably best known for her time as one of the "pink ladies" of St. John's Hospital Auxiliary, cheerfully and dutifully serving for over 45 years, including one term as president. She was named Auxiliary of the Year in 1986 and it was an honor she cherished.Jeanne was an avid card player -- playing bridge in a number of regular groups, ruthless during a game of Spite & Malice, and dedicated to teaching card games to anyone who showed an inkling of interest. She loved travelling to new places with her husband and cruising the high seas with dear friends. She had an infectious love of life and appreciated little things in life -- the boundless energy of a small child, a crisp white shirt, spicy food, flea market treasures, yard work, sun tea, storytelling, making things with her hands, feeding birds, going to Mass, and spending time with family and friends. Her spirit and love will be missed and treasured by all who knew her.Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Libby Darcey, husband Jim Osgood and her brothers Jim Darcey and Pete Darcey.Jeanne is survived by her sister: Betty Anne Tyrell, five children: J. Craig Osgood (Irene), Darcey Moran (Joe), Liz Miller (Charlie), Susan Billingsly (David), and Amy Sherman (Mark)), nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren (and counting). Services will be Saturday, January 19, 10 AM, at Christ the King Church, Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Catholic Charities, Bishop Kelley High School and Clarehouse.Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, Tulsa 918-585-1151 www.fitzgeraldivychapel.com www.fitzgeraldivychapel.com
