LarueNov. 3, 1931 - Dec. 29, 2018 EDMOND Marion Ruth "Connie" Wehr LaRue, 87, of Edmond, OK, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018. Connie was born on November 3, 1931 on a rural farm in Orlando, OK to Francis Lee and Ruth Orin (Webb) Wehr.She attended Prairie View, a one room schoolhouse and Orlando High School, graduating in 1949. After high school she moved to Stillwater, OK taking a job with Ward Buick Garage. She later moved to Guthrie, OK taking a job with OK Furniture Manufacturing Company. She met and married the love of her life, Bill LaRue, on December 24, 1955. They moved to Edmond in 1969 with their two young sons, Steve and Robert. After moving to Edmond, she worked at Central Fixture until its closure in 1986. She then joined her sons at LaRue Automotive where she worked in the office until just a short time ago.Connie became a grandmother for the first of four times in 1987 when "Nan" became her official title. She never passed up a stray dog, cat or critter, including a few pet turkeys along the way. No person or animal ever went hungry when she was around.She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Myrna Lemon and brothers Dwight, John, and Dale Wehr.Connie leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, Bill and dogs, Mattie and Sam of the home; sons, Steve Sr. and Shelly and Robert and Kelly. Her grandchildren include Jamie and Shane, Steve Jr., Wyatt, Brooke and great-grandson, Ridge. She is also survived by one sister Elaine Thedford of Enid, OK; brother Joe and Janie Wehr of Perry, OK; along with many nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 4, 2019, at Morris Heights Cemetery in Orlando, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.Visitation will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019, from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home in GuthrieFriends may sign the online guestbook at:www.smithgallo.com
