Thomas D. Moore passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, in Edmond, OK. Tom was born on Oct. 22, 1933, in Spearville, KS to Ora and Jennie Moore, third of seven children. The family moved from Spearville, KS when he was 13. Tom graduated from Garden City High School in 1952. He attended Kansas State University for one year and Garden City Junior College for one year. In 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Jackie Bedker. Tom was drafted into the U.S. Navy in Oct. 1955 and served his two-year term on the USS Warrick. After the service, Tom and Jackie moved to Guymon, OK. Tom worked for Long Bell Lumber Co., and later for McCullough Tool Co. They moved to Liberal, KS, and he worked for BJ Hughes Tool Co. and transferred to Oklahoma City in 1971. He was the District Manager, and later joined Nichols Casting Crews as Vice President of Sales. After the oil bust, Tom had several jobs, including: school bus driver, rural route paper carrier, and Santa Claus. He then went into business for himself, starting Big T. Oil Tools & Repair, Inc. in 1995. He retired in 2010. Tom's retirement days were full of R&R, traveling, seeing old friends, and attending family reunions each year. Tom was the best husband, father, Papa, brother, and uncle that anyone could have. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He loved Jesus, his family, and his friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Oralee Jones, of Gillette, WY; two brothers, Bill Moore, of Oklahoma City; and Dick Moore, of Burneyville, OK. He is survived by his wife, Jackie, of the home; son, Thomas D. Moore, Jr., of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Coby Moore and his wife Christi, of Lubbock, TX; Chisum Moore and his wife Carissa, of Midland, TX; and Beau Moore and his wife Reesa, of Midland, TX; step-granddaughter, Stephanie R. Allen, of Oklahoma City; great-grandchildren, Eden Crenshaw and her husband Jacob, of Seguin, TX; Justin Moore, of Ridgeway, Ontario, Canada; and Connor, Jaxyn, Mason, and Jett Moore, of Midland, TX; great-great-granddaughter, Evangeline Crenshaw; brother, Jim Moore and his wife Millie, of Cloudcroft, NM; sisters, Jeanette Taylor and her husband Melvin, of Liberty, MO; and Jane Scoville and her husband Larry, of Manhattan, KS; sister-in-law, Pat Moore, of Burneyville, OK; brother-in-law, Walt Jones, of Gillette, WY; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Viewing will be at Baggerley from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at the Santa Fe Presbyterian Church, Edmond, with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
