Joni Fairfield NiemeyerCANASTOTA >> Joni Fairfield Niemeyer, 85, of Canal Street, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 9, 2018, in the Extended Care Facility of the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she had been a resident for the past year and a half.Joni was born in Kempville, Ontario, Canada on March 26, 1932. She has been a resident of Canastota for the past 25 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse.She is survived by two sons, Dennis French and Joel F. Regis, both of Canastota; one daughter, Judith Carrillo of Arizona; several grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and three sisters, Rita, Isabel Baker and Geraldine Waters, all of Canada. She was predeceased by a son, Robert J. Regis Jr.Burial will take place in the spring in Lenox Rural Cemetery. There will be no prior calling hours or services. Joni was my downstairs neighbor for 7 years. She was a sweetheart. I know she's with Jesus now, and I will see her again! Praying for you all <3

Very sorry for your loss. She always treated me like her grandchild and my boys as well. She always had nice things to say to me. She is in a better place now.
