Donald "Pink" Hamilton passed away quietly in Fullerton, CA on July 18, 2020 at the incredible age of 90. He grew up in Anaheim, CA. He attended Anaheim Union High School and graduated with the Class of 1947. He will forever be known by those close to him as an AUHS "fanatic." He absolutely adored Anaheim High School, the friends he made, as well as attending football games and alumni reunions for decades after his graduation. As he always said, "I bleed blue and gold." Pink served in the Army during the Korean War. He attended Long Beach State and earned his teaching credential. Pink will most notably be remembered as an elementary school teacher in Fullerton, CA. He taught at Raymond Elementary, Wilshire Jr. High, Golden Hill Elementary and Fern Drive Elementary where he also substituted after retirement. He met the love of his life, Heidi Thalmann in 1960, and they were happily married for almost 59 wonderful years. They made their home in Fullerton, CA and raised two children. Pink is survived by his wife Heidi, son Mark (Patty) and daughter Heidi-Beth (Rich). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Bob, Jenna, Alyssa, Matthew, Wilson, and Eliana; brother and sister-in-law Kjell and Marianne as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He is expecting his first great-grandchild in October. His burial will be private with military honors. As soon as safely possible, there will be a celebration of Pink's life with all invited.
