Jack was a fun loving professional and was the go to guy in Orange County California for tax planning and deferral strategies during the real estate boom of urban sprawl to bust. He was the tax partner in charge of The Irvine Company for Kenneth Leventhal which is quite an endorsement. God gave me the good fortune to work with Jack especially during the S&L crisis when it seemed like many companies had to choose between filing an S-11 or Chapter 11. Jack was a mentor to me and friend. He took pleasure in working through challenging issues and relished the memories of them all as I did in working with him. I, like many, became better working with his help and mentorship. Jack was generous with his knowledge and passion for his trade. I can only aspire to motivate the people I work with like Jack did as a role model for me.

Some people say it can be as much about who you know than what you know. In Jacks case, I say it is who you worked with. I was saddened to learn of his passing and reminded of his good heart. He was a fun loving guy along with a great technician of real estate tax law. God rest his soul.
