My condolences to the Robert's family. Lillian (Grandma Roberts to most) was a wise soul, who set a wonderful example for her family and especially all women she met. She will be remembered for her wit and strong will! She is the first centenarian I've had the pleasure of personally knowing and she will be greatly missed. Lillian lived a long full life and I'm happy her spirit has been set free to soar the heavens!

Our connection to Lillian is through her husband, a native of western Illinois, where we grew up. They were friends of my in-laws, Fay & Frances Williams, during their young married years. Lillian always told my husband that Frances taught her how to cook! After my mother-in-law passed away in 2009, we began communicating with Lillian and so enjoyed her letters and phone calls from California -- we found it hard to believe that she was such an advanced age although my husband's mother lived to be 96 herself and was sharp until the end.
We are sure that all of the Roberts family has many fond memories of Lillian -- keep them going, especially at family gatherings, and she will always be with you.

I loved Lillian Roberts. We were neighbors for years on Claudina St., in Anaheim. When I was about 6 or 7, I was mad at my Mother, Elvene Brown, and I packed up my suitcase and went next door to Lillian's and asked her if I could be her little girl. She did not accept my invitation, and I'm sure with a big laugh, took me back home.
She was a wonderful neighbor and one that I will always remember.
