Beauchamp, Robert Floyd Jr. "Bubba", age 77, passed away peacefully at his home in San Clemente on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. From his birth in Pasadena, on December 13, 1940, to his death, Bubba nourished the people around him with joy, love, faith and laughter. He was born to Robert and Dorothy (Osbourne) Beauchamp and was the oldest of five children, all raised in the family home on the Newport Peninsula. Bubba had a deep passion for the ocean and boating, sailing around the world on the family's 57' Columbia "The Dorothy O" and competitively racing Hobie Cats off local and distant shorelines, bonding with family and making lasting friendships along the way. He graduated from California State University, Long Beach and embarked on a successful teaching career. He moved to China Cove with his first wife, Jenalyn (Black) Beauchamp. They had two children, Cheryl and Robert III, whom he adored. Bubba began his second career as Manager of his family-operated marina, Dana West. He loved his days living in the on-site Manager's Apartment overlooking his boat and the docks, where he threw many memorable parties and formed life-long friendships. He later retired from marina management and purchased a condo in Dana Point overlooking the harbor where he enjoyed life to the fullest. Bubba married the love of his life and best friend, Judith (Luttrell) Beauchamp, on March 12, 2005. They built a home in San Clemente where they hosted many memorable gatherings with family and friends, as well as spent time together delighting in the crashing waves and spectacular sunsets. He and Judy enjoyed many wonderful travels together, playing tennis, cheering on their beloved Anaheim Ducks, sharing laughter, being with one another, as well as spending time with family and friends. He became heavily involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, where he influenced and saved many lives. He founded a church and recovery center in 2008 called The Effect that continues to grow in success. Bubba always said death was a rite of passage and encouraged grief but not sadness. He said you can always find your loved ones in the ocean breeze, the calm waters, the sunset, the crashing waves, the blossoming flowers and inside your heart. Bubba was larger than life with an unforgettable smile and contagious laughter. His spirit will live on in all who were fortunate to have known him. Bubba is survived by his wife, Judith (Luttrell) Beauchamp; two children, Cheryl (Ron) Smith and Robert (Kim) Beauchamp III; three step-children, Terry (Paul) Heydorff, Cathy (Eric) Rescigno and Julie (Gary) Moss; two brothers, Richard (Theresa) Beauchamp and David (Tracy) Beauchamp; one sister, Dorothy Campbell; 17 grandchildren, Rhonda (Scott) Taylor, Kati Rinderknecht, Kelly (Jennifer) Rinderknecht, Lindsey Smith, Jordan Smith, Brittany Beauchamp, Brynn Beauchamp, Robert Beauchamp IV, Mailia Beauchamp, Sarah Moss, Katie Moss, Jake Moss, Courtney Heydorff, Cole Heydorff, Taryn Rescigno, Ashley Rescigno and Nicole Rescigno; one great grandchild, Kayden Martinez; his African Grey Parrot, Simon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family, friends and others whose lives Bubba touched are invited to Capo Beach Calvary Church, 25975 Domingo Ave, Dana Point, CA, 92624, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Came across this old photo. IT was taken on Balboa Island. I believe it was in 1948. From left to right, Dorothy Jevne, Joanna Jevne, Dickie Beauchamp, Bobby Beauchamp, and Paul Mantz, Jr.

I met you, Robert, when I lived across the street at 1911 Balboa Blvd. You knew me as Joe Mauser.....
Last time we talked was when my son Matt connected us and you saw him entertain as the singer of his band, The Tijuana Dogs.....
I was 15 or 16 when your dad and mom moved into the house you grew up in.....I fell in love with your sister, dated her when she attended school in Idylwild.....recall driving with your mom and dad up to see her from Newport. I was so intimidated by your dad, he was, after all, famous as the Friendly Credit Dentist!!!
I remember and will for the rest of my time here on earth the day we drove down to the horse races in your 1960 with Jenalyn, your wife. Your original car was a 1957 green plymouth which I loved to hear you drive with its rumbling mufflers and stick shift.
I bet money on one of your dad's race horses and won!!!
We celebrated, but my greatest celebration was being with you, Jenalyn and knowing your family.....
You have now passed, but in my heart, and now I am 76 years old, and it's August 27, 2018, you are still very much alive, I can remember your wonderful face, your smile and your amazing energy!!!
You will always be alive to me!!!
With great love and respect always,
Joe Mauser

A wonderful man who was all heart. Clearly, he loved life and was a very happy spirit who brought light into the rooms of our fellowship.
