H. "Kay" Wendlandt D.O., 68, died peacefully Dec. 21, 2019 at home with her beloved wife Carol by her side. She died of renal failure and dementia. At her request, her body was donated to OHSU.
Kay was born Feb. 25, 1951 in Austin, Texas to Charles and Connie Wendlandt. She was the oldest of four children. She graduated from the University of Texas in Accounting, Southwest Texas State University in Respiratory Therapy and later from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She became a board-certified physician in both Family Practice and Addiction Medicine.
She is survived by her wife of 20 years, Carol; daughter, Whitney (Coren); grandchildren, Sabina, Vivi, Rachel, Becca and Aaron; siblings, Chuck, Susie and Julie.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at the Summerplace Clubhouse, 2020 N.E. 150th Ave., Portland. Her sweet disposition that persisted despite the many medical issues that beset her. I never ever heard a complaining word from her, and I loved her beautiful smile.
