I was with Joe when he met Ellie, the love of his life. Joe was the best man in our wedding and his toast had the room in stitches. An avid basketball player, we battled "one on one" full court to stay in shape. Joe didn't like losing and we kept playing until there was a winner -usually him. Rest easy my friend!

I did not know Joe at West Point although we were classmates. My wife and I met Joe on our first assignment after graduation. He was smart, funny and kind; a true gentleman. We were saddened to learn of his passing and send condolences to his family.

I knew Joe at West Point, and I fondly remember my time with him at Officers Basic Course in Indiana. RIP, Joe.
